Doha: Al Sadd's Xavi Hernandez has been named as QNB Stars League’s (QSL) ‘Best Coach’ for the month of September, based details provided by STATS, the official statistics and figures provider for the League.
Under Xavi, reigning QSL champions Al Sadd played five matches and won all of them to collect the maximum 15 points.
The Wolves beat Al Sailiya 2-0, Qatar SC 3-1, Al Rayyan 4-2 and Al Shamal 7-2 before beating Al Arabi 4-0 in Week 5's Qatar Derby.
During the period, Al Sadd scored 16 goals while conceding five and they are now leading the QSL table with 15points after five rounds of action with an unbeaten record.
Xavi’s playing career was full of success with Barcelona, where he joined at the age of 11, winning many titles especially in Spain and Europe. In 2015, he moved to Al Sadd, where he won the Qatar League, Amir Cup and Qatar Cup. The Spaniard took up coaching after retiring as a player at the end of 2018-19 season with Al Sadd.
