Step by Step Centre provides specialised sessions

The Peninsula

Step by Step Centre for Special Needs is a well-established educational therapy centre in the heart of Doha which provides specialised teaching and individual therapy sessions for children aged 3 to 18 who might have learning, behaviour, communication and/or sensory challenges.

On Thursday, from 4pm to 6pm, Step by Step Centre will be holding an Experts in Action event where families with children with learning, sensory, behaviour and  communication challenges will be able to attend and have a chance to see the specialists working with children.

This two-hour event will include free multi-therapeutic group sessions and free consultation for interested families.

Step By Step Centre was setup in November 2011 to provide the specialist care and highest quality of educational services for children with special needs in Qatar, so that they can reach their full potential.

Since its inception in 2011, SBS has grown to be a trusted place for families of children with special educational needs, opening their doors to more than 300 children, providing individualised intervention programmes, educational or therapeutic assessments, individual or group therapy sessions and early intervention programs. SBS therapy services include, but not limited to, speech and language therapy, occupational therapy, Applied Behaviour Analysis (ABA), behaviour therapy, Buddy Club ( to improve social interaction skills), and  learning/ academic support (for specific learning challenges such as Dyslexia).

Step by Step is committed to:

Creating personalised learning programmes that meet the needs of individual children.

Ensuring that children’s needs are met promptly and effectively.

Supporting parents in meeting the needs of their children.

Developing the specialist expertise of our staff so that they can meet children’s needs directly.

A lot of emphasis also placed on independence and social skills and consequently, the children are encouraged to engage in socialisation programmes and visit the wider community (eg. local markets, parks, museums, hotels) to participate in a range of activities from arts & crafts, to sports competitions, certified cookery sessions, ice skating or swimming classes.
