Health Ministry warns against consuming grapes from Peru

Doha: The Ministry of Public Health has warned people against eating grapes originated from Peru, due to the possibility of its contamination with pesticide residues.

The ministry said there has been an international warning on the same. It also added that it is currently undertaking all required procedures to reduce any potential risks to the consumer and is coordinating with the Ministry of Municipality and Environment to ensure that the markets do not sell these grapes.

The ministry said samples were sent from the reserved quantities for laboratory analysis and notices have been issued to the ports to seize any shipments with these grape .

The Ministry cautioned that anyone who bought these grapes should not consume it.
