Doha: In immediate response to a comment posted on Twitter by a person who received rotten tomatoes from a delivery company, a team of inspectors from the Health Control Department in Doha Municipality raided the stores of the food supplier company in the Industrial Area.
The inspectors found that the news was correct as there were rotten tomatoes and other foodstuffs due to improper storage, sorting and transportation.
A violation has been recorded against the company in accordance with the provisions of Law No. 8 of 1990 regarding the regulation of food control and the rotten foodstuff was immediately destroyed as it was found not fit for human consumption.
Necessary legal measures are being taken against the violating company, and the delivery company officials have been asked to ensure the quality and validity of the products before delivering to customers.
