Doha, Qatar: The Government of Dubai Media Office on Thursday, July 16, 2026, refuted a Reuters report on explosions in Downtown Dubai, describing the report as "false."
In a social media post, it said, "The Government of Dubai Media Office (GDMO) confirms that the Reuters report regarding explosions in Downtown Dubai is false. GDMO urges the public and media to rely only on official sources for accurate information and to avoid spreading rumours or unverified information."
It further added that action will be taken against media outlets that publish false news or unverified information about Dubai, in accordance with local and federal laws and regulations.
