Doha, Qatar: Qatar General Electricity and Water Corporation (Kahramaa) has underscored its comprehensive approach to safeguarding the quality of drinking water supplied across the country, emphasising strict adherence to local and international health standards.

In a social media post yesterday, the corporation noted that it relies on an integrated quality assurance system that aligns with recommendations from the World Health Organization (WHO) as well as its own internal specifications.

This framework is designed to ensure water safety and maintain consistent quality throughout every stage of production and distribution it said. At the heart of the system is Kahramaa’s Water Quality Laboratory, which holds international accreditation under ISO 17025:2017. The laboratory conducts precise and regular analyses in accordance with approved testing plans, providing a critical layer of verification for the water reaching consumers.

Complementing the laboratory’s work are automated monitoring systems installed across water facilities. These systems enable continuous oversight, help preserve the stability of water quality, and support the sustainable management of water resources. Kahramaa stated that the multi-layered approach reflects its ongoing commitment to delivering high-quality and sustainable electricity and water services that contribute to better living standards in Qatar. By combining rigorous laboratory testing with real-time automated controls, the corporation aims to uphold public confidence in the safety and reliability of the drinking water network.

The system covers the full supply chain, from production plants through the distribution network, ensuring that potential issues are identified and addressed promptly. Regular sampling and analysis allow for early detection of any deviations, while the international accreditation of the laboratory confirms the technical competence and reliability of the testing processes.

Through these measures, Kahramaa continues to prioritise the delivery of safe, high-standard drinking water as a fundamental public service. The corporation’s focus on compliance with global best practices and advanced monitoring technologies demonstrates its dedication to maintaining excellence in water quality management.
