Doha: Qatar will celebrate tomorrow the largest national parade at the Corniche on the occasion of Qatar National Day celebrations.
All units of armed forces such as land forces, air force and naval force, the Air Defense Force, the internal security forces (Lakhwiya), the Amiri Guard and the security departments of the Ministry of Interior and all the military colleges affiliated to the Ministry of Defence and the Interior are participating in the national parade.
Major-General Salem Fahad. Mohammed Al Ahbabi, Commander of the Military Parade Center and the General Co-ordinator of the military parade said in a press statement that the armed forces have completed their training exercises for a period of one month, stressing that the participation of military units will be threefold compared to the last year.
Al Ahbabi said that a large number of new armoured vehicles, and defensive weapons will participate in the military show. He stressed that 90 percent of the weapons that will be seen by citizens in the national march tomorrow is new.
“All the soldiers involved in the march are highly trained, and this year’s show will take a longer time of one hour and 17 minutes compared to last year’s 45 to 50 minutes only,” he said.
