DOHA: Qatar Stock Exchange’s (QSE) benchmark index gained 129.53 points, or 1.22 percent, last week when the bourse closed yesterday at 10,787.75 points.
Trading value during last week decreased by 1.30 percent to reach QR1.45bn compared to QR1.47bn.
Trading volume decreased by 31.49 percent to reach 49.22 million shares, as against 71.84 million shares, while the number of transactions fell by 11.37 percent, to reach 33,745 transactions as compared to 38,073 transactions.
Market cap rose by 0.89 percent to reach QR616.90bn as compared to QR611.45bn at the end of previous week, reports QNA.
Banking and Financial Services sector led traded value last week with 37.82 percent of the total traded value. Industries sector accounted for 27.40 percent.
Consumer Goods and Services sector accounted for 11.37 percent and Real Estate sector accounted 9.90 percent.
Industries sector led traded volume last week with 36.46 percent of the total traded volume. Banking and Financial Services sector accounted for 26.46 percent. Real Estate sector accounted for 16.18 percent and Transportation sector accounted 6.37 percent.
Industries sector led traded number of transactions last week with 41.39 percent of the total number of transactions. Banking and Financial Services sector accounted for 20.14 percent. Real Estate sector accounted for 14.34 percent and Consumer Goods and Services sector accounted for 9.23 percent. From the 46 listed companies 24 ended last week higher, while 19 fell and three remained unchanged.
QNB led traded value last week with 18.48 percent of the total traded value. Industries Qatar accounted for 9.00 percent and Qatar Aluminum accounted for 7.96 percent.
When compared on daily basis, the QSE index gained 25.96 points, or 0.24 percent yesterday compared to Wednesday’s closing.
The volume of shares traded decreased to 10,371,131 from 12,102,995 on Wednesday and the value of shares decreased to QR275.17m from QR378.89m on Wednesday.
From the 49 companies listed on QSE, shares of 45 saw trading yesterday. From these, 25 companies gained, 16 closed lower and shares of four companies remained unchanged.
