Doha: Ooredoo’s booths at Milipol Qatar 2021 — the region’s most prominent event dedicated to homeland security and civil defence — welcomed scores of visitors looking to discover more about the latest information and communications (ICT) solutions designed to protect enterprises and monitor business infrastructure to mitigate risk.

Chief Commercial Officer at Ooredoo Qatar Sheikh Nasser Bin Hamad Bin Nasser Al Thani said, “The high visitor turnout witnessed by the Ooredoo booths demonstrates customer confidence in our information and communications technology solutions. I would like to congratulate the event’s Committee on its great success, which comes despite the exceptional circumstances imposed by the pandemic.”

“Ooredoo’s strategy combines a commitment to digital transformation with a comprehensive commitment to achieving Qatar National Vision 2030, with the digital business having become our focus in recent years. Through this exhibition, we had the opportunity to demonstrate our dedication to supporting the corporate sector with our comprehensive ICT offering that enables businesses to build a solid defence against cyber-threats, protecting their assets and operations, and showcase our progress towards achieving the digital goals of Qatar National Vision 2030,” he added.

Internet of Things solutions highlighted at the event included IoT Connect. This service enables companies to track and manage all their networked devices, tracking tools and products online, measuring data bandwidth consumption, and flagging international roaming connections. The Fleet Management solution, developed to allow companies to manage their field teams, enables identifying and dispatch of the closest and most skilled drivers with trips and activities recorded. Therefore, service calls and fulfillment per day can be increased through better planning and control of vehicles and workforces.

A raft of Managed Security solutions on show included Qatar’s first end-to-end Web Application Firewall, a fully managed cloud-based service designed to protect digital presence and assets from cyber-threats such as automated bot and injection attacks, as well as application-layer denial of service.

Event attendees had the opportunity to explore the most comprehensive suite of security services in Qatar through the display of Ooredoo’s Security Operations Centre and to discover a new approach to user protection from emerging cyber threats with Cloud Web Security.

A third booth invited visitors to explore Ooredoo’s Azure services, offering the capability to scale up or scale down to continuously meet changing business needs while ensuring that IT costs and services are constantly aligned with business demand. Those looking to back up critical data were able to find out more about the Cloud Backup solution and see how Ooredoo’s Cyber Recovery Solution offers integration and protection of the most valuable data.
