Doha: Mowasalat (Karwa), in partnership with Qatar Charity (QC), will once again distribute free Karwa SmartCards during Ramadan as part of its social responsibility activities.

The free bus transportation cards will be handed out to workers in conjunction with the distribution of Iftar meals by Qatar Charity during the holy month.

Nasser Mamdouh M. Al Shammari, Mowasalat (Karwa) Operations Manager - Light Transport Services, delivered the rechargeable tickets to Ahmed Omar Al Sherawi, head of Relations and Social Responsibility section at Qatar Charity.

Al Sherawi praised the fruitful and continuous partnership and cooperation with Mowasalat (Karwa), which has provided free Karwa SmartCards for the workers who use the public transport most in the country. Al Sherawi thanked the company for its support, which is a humanitarian gesture that contributes to sharing the joy of Ramadan with the labourers and reflects gratitude towards their contribution to building the State of Qatar.

Al Sherawi said that Qatar Charity is keen to cooperate with institutions and companies that want to implement humanitarian initiatives, within the framework of their societal responsibility, for the benefit of the community.

Fahad Saad Al Qahtani, Mowasalat (Karwa) CEO, emphasized that, “Building community through transport is the driving factor in all of the company’s social responsibility activities, and it is a consequent step to support the most frequent users of our public bus network.

"Apart from such social engagement, we also collaborate with various ministries and governmental organizations on workshops, lectures, and training to promote road and traffic safety. Our ultimate responsibility lies with contributing to the legacy of safe and environmentally friendly traffic infrastructure for future generations.”
