Ooredoo CSR campaign to support communities in Qatar

Doha: Ooredoo has announced the timely launch of a new CSR umbrella campaign — Ooredoo AlKhair — under which it will devise and undertake a comprehensive raft of charitable initiatives to support Qatar’s community. 

The Ooredoo AlKhair campaign consists of several initiatives with a range of aims and is kicking off with several community activities in the first days of Ramadan, including delivery of gifts to patients at Fahad Bin Jassim Kidney Centre, the provision of support for the Ehsan Centre for Empowerment and Elderly Care to help them continue their awareness programme, delivery of Eidiya to teams of labourers working in the Souq Waqif area, and delivery of treats to the Bu Sidra Quarantine area to help residents celebrate Garangao. 

Ooredoo is sponsoring two Qatar Red Crescent Society campaigns; for Ramadan, the Khairkum Sabeq Festival, which aims to ensure everyone has the necessary food provisions this Ramadan. In the longer term, the new campaign would raise funds and mobilise international support for a vaccination campaign to ensure vaccine equity for vulnerable groups. 

The telco leader is also partnering with non-profit organisations Education Above All (EAA) to help raise awareness and funds for educational projects which promote access to education for all. Silatech, on its fund-raising campaign entitled ‘Spare Them from Asking’ which will support those whose jobs have been lost due to the negative economic impact of the COVID-19 pandemic.

The holy month of Ramadan is a particularly special time of year in this regard and the perfect time in which to launch such a worthwhile campaign.

Ooredoo AlKhair will continue throughout the year, with the campaign being expanded and further developed to include more initiatives. Media partner Qommunication will be supporting Ooredoo in promoting and publicising the campaign.
