Qatar Rail training centre receives safety award

Qatar Rail’s commitment to rigorous health and safety standards has been recognised by a prestigious international awarding body for workplace safety training.
The Green Line Underground training centre has already established itself as a ‘gold standard’ centre, with its learner results and training administration standards in the top 5 per cent of Highfield centres in the entire Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) area.
Eng Jassim Al Ansari Project Director of Green Line stated, “Qatar Rail have from the start of the project promoted the highest standards of safety, welfare and quality through training of all staff and the workforce.
Training facilities have been established on all the project contracts and the standards of the workforce education have been monitored by internationally renowned accreditation bureaus.”
He added: “The Highfield International Centre of Excellence Award confirmed today that the Green Line Underground training facility is undergoing constant improvements, and complimented previously awarded accreditation to this facility. This award is a testament to the ongoing commitment of Qatar Rail to continuing improvement and education on the project.”
The centre, which was launched in 2014 and was the first of its kind in the region. It was developed as part of Qatar Rail’s steadfast commitment to high standards of health and safety for the 9,500 workers across its sites. The centre not only delivers health and safety advice to its workers but also to a growing number of key organisations in Qatar.
Christian Hopper, International Business Development Manager for Highfield Qualifications, praised the centre saying, “Since we started working with the Green Line Training Centre, it was clear that they had the highest commitment to excellence in all areas of training delivery and administration among our many hundreds of international approved centres.”
