Doha - The Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs HE Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman Al-Thani received today a telephone call from the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees HE Filippo Grandi.
The call dealt with discussing the issue of Afghan refugees in light of developments in Afghanistan, and the importance of developing an international mechanism for dealing with the displaced, in addition to the UN High Commissioner's recommendation not to impose a forced return for Afghan citizens.
HE UN High Commissioner also praised the efforts of the State of Qatar in Afghanistan, expressing his hope that these efforts lead to a better reality for refugees and their families.
