Doha, Qatar: The Qatar Civil Aviation Authority, QCAA, has emphasized the use of a digital remote tower system aimed at enhancing operational efficiency and safety in air traffic management at Hamad International Airport, HIA.

In a social media post, the authority explained that the integrated technological system is designed to provide a control unit for managing remote surveillance technologies and simulates the external visual environment of a traditional control tower.

QCAA said the system also offers clearer and more precise imagery than natural vision in certain operational situations.

The Digital Remote Tower provides full 360-degree coverage of Hamad International Airport, ensuring comprehensive airport visibility and ensures the remote management of air operations beyond airport premises.

QCAA noted that the system contributes to improving operational efficiency and enhancing airport safety through advanced surveillance and monitoring capabilities.

The tower system includes screens supporting runway air traffic management, fixed cameras covering all airport facilities, and high-definition movable cameras that assist operations. with advanced day and night vision settings for improved image quality.

The Authority added that the system also provides automatic tracking of aircraft and vehicles as well as rapid navigation between airport locations.
