Doha - Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs HE Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman Al-Thani received today a phone call from Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation of the Italian Republic HE Luigi Di Maio.
During the phone call, they reviewed the distinguished relations between the two countries and issues of common interest.
Both sides also touched on the latest field developments in Afghanistan, both on the security and political level.
HE Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs stressed the importance of protecting civilians and the need to intensify the necessary efforts to achieve national reconciliation, and to seek a comprehensive political settlement that guarantees a peaceful transfer of power in Afghanistan, in line with the gains made by the Afghan people.
