Montreal, Canada: Prime Minister Mark Carney said Tuesday that Canada and the United States had made progress towards a trade deal but more work was needed, after President Donald Trump paused his latest punishing tariffs.
"Substantial progress has been made, although there is important work still to be done," Carney said, after Trump's last-minute decision to hold off on imposing 50 percent tariffs on select Canadian goods until August 21.
