Doha, Qatar: Training sessions for the first edition of the “Trainers Excellence” programme (Tamyoz Al-Mudarribeen) have officially begun as part of a national initiative to raise the efficiency of trainers in Qatar’s government sector and strengthen the quality of training outcomes.

The programme is being implemented by the Civil Service and Government Development Bureau (CGB) through its training arm, the Institute of Public Administration. It provides participants with a structured pathway to earn a “Certified Trainer” certificate, combining practical application with interactive learning designed specifically for government training environments.

According to a statement from the CGB posted on social media yesterday, the evaluation and selection process for the first and second batches identified 94 candidates. Of those selected, 68 percent attended the written assessment stage, while 97 percent successfully passed the interview phase.

The multi-stage selection process was carefully designed to identify high-calibre professionals with strong training and practical expertise capable of elevating the standard of government training programmes.

The initiative aims to build a reliable cadre of certified national trainers who can effectively transfer knowledge, skills and professional experience to civil servants across government entities. By focusing on practical, interactive methods, the programme seeks to improve the overall quality and relevance of training delivered within the public sector, thereby supporting the broader objectives of the Third National Development Strategy (NDS3).

Earlier this year, the programme was formally launched in the presence of senior officials, including President of the Civil Service and Government Development Bureau and Secretary-General of the National Planning Council, H E Dr. Abdulaziz bin Nasser bin Mubarak Al-Khalifa.

At that time, officials emphasised that the initiative represents a strategic investment in national human capital and aligns with Qatar’s commitment to developing competent local expertise capable of driving institutional excellence. The programme draws on international best practices in trainer development while remaining tailored to the specific needs of Qatar’s government institutions. It is structured to equip participants with modern instructional tools, presentation skills and the ability to design and deliver effective training sessions that address real workplace challenges.

CGB officials have previously highlighted that the programme received strong interest from professionals across the public sector, with hundreds of applications submitted during the initial recruitment phase. The rigorous screening process, covering application review, written evaluations, interviews and practical assessments, ensures that only those demonstrating the highest potential advance to the training stage.
