Doha, Qatar: Thani Bin Abdullah Foundation for Humanitarian Services (Thani Humanitarian), in cooperation with Hamad Medical Corporation’s (HMC) Social Services Department, has provided 617 items of clothing, footwear and personal care essentials to support patients during their hospital stays.
The initiative aims to enhance patients’ comfort and well-being by addressing their personal needs alongside the healthcare services they receive.
It builds on the ongoing cooperation between the two organisations in providing assistance to patients and marks the first contribution from Thani Humanitarian specifically dedicated to supplying personal necessities through HMC’s Social Services Department.
The donated items will be distributed among eligible patients according to their individual needs. HMC’s Social Services Department will identify beneficiaries following a comprehensive assessment of their personal requirements and social and financial circumstances, ensuring that assistance reaches those who need it most while protecting their privacy and dignity.
Dr Mohamed Rashid Al Marri, Director of the Beneficiary Services Centre at Thani Humanitarian, praised HMC for the distinguished healthcare it provides to different segments of society.
He said the contribution reflected the importance of joint efforts and complementary roles between healthcare and humanitarian institutions in serving and supporting patients.
Al Marri added that Thani Humanitarian seeks to ensure its initiatives respond to beneficiaries’ needs and circumstances, with assistance provided in a manner that safeguards their privacy and dignity.
