Doha: The Cultural Village Foundation (Katara) organised an exhibition entitled “Qatar the Past, Present and Future” at the National Art Museum in the Republic of Moldova, on the occasion of the Qatar National Day.

The event was organised in collaboration with the Embassy of the State of Qatar in Moldova and the Embassy of the Republic of Modlova in Qatar.

The exhibition was opened on Friday by Hamad bin Rashid Al Athba, Acting Chargé d’Affairs of the Embassy of the State of Qatar in the Republic of Moldova. The exhibition included 40 photographs by Ali Issa Al Nuaimi that dealt with Qatar in various periods of time.

Al Nuaimi said: “I presented about 40 pictures in which different elements were used, which were aimed at documenting Qatar’s past and the present in addition to visualising the future. The human elements were introduced into a simulation of the past through traditional clothing.”

He said the photographs also show the beautiful and dazzling urban development in Qatar, in addition to future projects that present Qatar’s vision.

He further said: “I had a special interest in the sporting aspect, which distinguished Qatar as it hosted many tournaments and has made remarkable preparations to host FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022.”

Al Nuaimi expressed his great happiness about the exhibition, which is his first personal exhibition outside Qatar, saying: ‘It is a great opportunity to participate in the National Day celebrations by this exhibition, which reflects the honourable image of Qatar abroad.”

Katara is always keen to encourage and support Qatari artists, showcase their creativity whether by organising exhibitions in Katara or outside the country.
