Assistant to the CEO of Dar Al Sharq, Jassim Fakhro
Doha: Assistant to the CEO of Dar Al Sharq, Jassim Fakhro, has been appointed National Coordinator of the International Public Relations Association (IPRA) Qatar Chapter.
The appointment letter was issued by IPRA on September 10, 2020. “This letter is confirmation of your appointment as National Coordinator of the IPRA Qatar Chapter in conformity with the terms and conditions of the agreement dated September 9, 2020 entitled Agreement between the International Public Relations Association and the Dar Al Sharq Group Qatar,” said Philip Sheppard, Secretary-General of IPRA. The IPRA Qatar Chapter is a country-specific chapter within the regional IPRA Gulf Chapter.
In this role IPRA looks forward to an increase in member activity in Qatar in particular in the following fields: engagement of members of the IPRA Qatar Chapter as a result of receiving IPRA Thought Leadership Essays, the IPRA President’s monthly message and local events, the recruitment of additional members as paid-up members of IPRA Global, increased entries from Qatar to the IPRA Golden World Awards, increased take-up in Qatar for online PR Training in English with the PR Academy www.ipra.org/member-services/pr-training.
Fakhro obtained a Master’s in Journalism / Public Relations from Marshall University, West Virginia, USA. Currently he is the Assistant CEO of Dar Al Sharq Group, and adviser to the director of Media and Public Relations at the General Retirement and Social Security Authority.
He was the first Qatari to join (IPRA) in 1996, and became member of its board of directors from 2015-2016. He held the position of vice-chairman of the IPRA in Gulf / Qatar branch, for ten years 2005-2015. He also held several positions and founded many departments and chaired events in the field of media and public relations.
