The Ambassador of the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan to the State of Qatar, H E Zaid Mufleh Al Lawzi, said that the visit of Amir H H Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani to Jordan comes within the framework of bilateral cooperation between the two countries and the brotherly relations between H H the Amir and H M King Abdullah II bin Al Hussein in light of the current regional developments.
H E the Ambassador stressed in a statement to Qatar News Agency (QNA) that this visit witnesses great welcome from Jordanians, officially and in public, as the meeting between the two leaders discusses bilateral relations and regional challenges, especially the central issue in the region, which is the Palestinian issue.
Ambassador Al Lawzi highlighted the fraternal Qatari-Jordanian relations of cooperation and coordination which have been lasting for many decades, pointing out that the members of Jordanian community in Qatar work in various sectors of the country.
He also praised the initiative of H H the Amir to allocate $500m investment opportunities in support of Jordan, and provide job opportunities for Jordanians in Qatar, that have great impact on the two countries.
The trade exchange between Qatar and Jordan exceeds one QR1bn, while the Qatari investments in Jordan are over $1.3bn, including $1.1bn bank investments, Al Lawzi said, expressing his hope that these investments and trade exchanges between the two countries will grow to the highest levels in the future.
He said that next month will witness a visit of a delegation from the Jordan Investment Commission (JIC) to meet with Qatari businessmen and inform them about investment opportunities in Jordan. Last October, there were several visits between the two sides, including the visit of two delegations from both the Jordan Chamber of Commerce and the Jordan Businessmen Association to Doha, where they met their Qatari counterparts in the framework of enhancing cooperation and searching for new horizons for investment.
At the end of his statement, H E the Ambassador pointed out that such visits, especially at the summit level, have a great positive impact on bilateral relations and regional and international issues.
