Doha: Public parks are gearing up to receive large numbers of visitors on Eid Al Adha. The Ministry of Munici-pality and Environment (MME) has said that parks --- including Al Thakhira Park, Al Kaaban Park, and Corniche Al Khor, Al Gharm Park, Ghuwairiyah Park, Al Kaabaan Park and others --- are prepared to receive the visitors on Eid Al Adha.
The visitors should adhere to all COVID-19 precautionary measures in place such as activating Ehteraz app, undergoing temperature reading, and maintaining social distance. Visitors should also follow the instructions of security personnel and should ensure the safety of children.
Al Khor Park features a zoo, a waterfall, a battery-operated train, a spacious restaurant, mosque, mu-seum, mini-golf area, wall murals, skating area, children’s play area, basketball court, food kiosks, drinking fountain, waterfall and an amphitheatre.
Meanwhile, Al Wakra Municipality, represented by the Health Control Section, has intensified its food inspection drive covering food outlets, eateries and butcheries. The drive aims to ensure food estab-lishments’ compliance with the health requirements, as well as making sure workers are wearing gloves and masks and have a valid health certificate.
The Municipality’s plan includes carrying out frequent and unannounced inspection of all food estab-lishments, tightening and intensifying monitoring on butcheries and fish markets through specialised veterinarians to ensure the safety of slaughtered animals.
Inspection visits also focus on shops selling sweets, fruits and vegetables and some other shops where activities witness a surge during Eid holidays.
The automatic abattoir will be working throughout the week during the whole week under the super-vision of specialised veterinarians to ensure the safety of the slaughtered animals. Public can lodge complaints against any violations of food safety and hygiene standards with the Health Control Section round the clock. The monitoring team will immediately follow up and respond to the complaints, taking action against the violators.
