Ankara, Turkiye: An earthquake measuring 5.4 on the Richter scale struck on Thursday an area southeast of Turkiye.
The Turkish Disaster and Emergency Management Authority (AFAD) reported that the epicenter of the quake occurred in Sanliurfa Province, noting that it was felt by residents of neighboring provinces, including Diyarbakir, Gaziantep and Malatya.
Relevant authorities are working to assess the situation on the ground and verify whether there is any damage or injuries. The earthquake struck a region of Turkiye known for high seismic activity, considering that it is located along major tectonic zones that include the east and north of Anatolian Faults.
