Ooredoo announces success of first Augmented Reality campaign

Doha: Ooredoo announced yesterday its recent Augmented Reality campaign was a huge hit with customers, who reacted enthusiastically to the opportunity to experience the new technology for the first time in Qatar.

The telecommunications leader launched its Augmented Reality technology via the Ooredoo app in celebration of Qatar National Day, using the new technology to offer celebratory gifts to its customers through Augmented Reality-compatible advertisements both around town and on all social media platforms.

 In just a few days, hundreds of thousands of customers scanned the advertisements and redeemed a variety of generous gifts through the app. 

The new Augmented Reality has allowed Ooredoo to provide a new, interactive way for customers to engage with its products and services. 

Augmented Reality affords the ability to enrich what customers see, hear and feel on the Ooredoo app by adding digital media elements such as computer-generated 3D animation to real-world elements. Augmented reality merges both real and virtual worlds to create a still real, but enhanced real world.
