Qatar reports over 250 community Covid-19 cases on Jan 25

Doha: Ministry of Public Health (MoPH) today reported 277 new cases of coronavirus (Coivd-19) and 123 people recovered from the virus in the last 24 hours, bringing the total number of people recovered in Qatar to 144,981.

Out of the 277 new cases, 259 are community cases and 18 from travellers returning from abroad.

Till now 248 people succumbed to the virus in Qatar, which is one of the lowest in the world.

The total number of positive Covid-19 cases recorded in Qatar is 149,296 and there are 4,067 active cases under treatment. 

4,873 people were tested for the first time in the last 24 hours (9,571 tests in total) taking the total tests done so far to 1,357,657 tests.

There are 38 cases of hospital admissions in the last 24 hours taking the total number of patients in the hospital to 372.

Four were admitted to intensive care in the last 24 hours, and so 39 people continue to receive medical attention in ICU.

While the restrictions of COVID-19 are gradually being lifted in Qatar, it is important for everyone to play their role in controlling the virus by following precautionary measures:

- Adherence to physical distancing

- Avoid close contact with others, crowded places, and confined closed spaces where other people congregate

- Wearing a face mask

- Washing hands regularly
