Doha, Qatar: The Ministry of Awqaf and Islamic Affairs, represented by its General Directorate of Endowments, participated virtually in the 2026 Gulf meeting dedicated to the exchange of research and practical experiences in the field of endowments (waqf), reaffirming Qatar’s commitment to strengthening regional cooperation in the development and sustainability of the endowment sector.
The meeting brought together representatives from the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) member states to share scientific research and successful experiences aimed at advancing endowment investment and management across the region.
During the session, the General Authority of Islamic Affairs, Endowments and Zakat of the United Arab Emirates presented its experience in investing and developing endowment assets, highlighting approaches that have contributed to enhancing the growth and sustainability of the sector.
The annual meeting is held in implementation of the decisions of the GCC ministers responsible for Islamic affairs and endowments, who have endorsed the exchange of scientific research and institutional experiences through interactive seminars conducted via videoconferencing technology.
The initiative seeks to promote the exchange of expertise and best practices among GCC member states, enabling participants to benefit from successful models in endowment investment and management.
