Barcelona, Spain: A brace from Kylian Mbappe was enough for Real Madrid to claim three precious points on Sunday as they beat La Liga leaders FC Barcelona 2-1.
Mbappe found himself in the right place and in the right time after a clearance by Barcelona defender Gerard Martin deflected off the incoming Mbappe and settled into the home team’s net in the 41st minute.
The second half saw Raphinha hit a powerful left footed shot from inside the box, having been fed a well-placed pass in the area by teammate Pedri, to net the equalizer in the 61st minute.
It took substitute Camavinga about 8 minutes to make an impact as hell brilliantly danced around the Barca defense before squaring it back to Mbappe who netted his second for the night three minutes before the end of regulation time.
The win cut Barcelona’s lead over Real Madrid to 3 points, and put Real Madrid within a one-point distance from city rivals Atletico Madrid.
