Qatar customs foils attempt to smuggle banned pills

Doha: Hamad International Airport (HIA) Customs caught a passenger trying to smuggle forbidden pills into Qatar. 

In a social media post, customs stated that the department seized 397 Lyrica tablets and 46 Captagon tablets. The forbidden pills were found on inspection of the traveller. 

The department has been issuing continuous warning against carrying illegal substances into the country. 

Customs officers are provided with all means of support including the latest devices and continuous training to read the body language of passengers and to be aware of the latest methods followed by smugglers.
