Qatar reports 110 Covid-19 community cases on Dec 26

Doha: Ministry of Public Health (MoPH) today recorded 169 new cases of coronavirus (COVID-19) and 145 people recovered from the virus in the last 24 hours, bringing the total number of people recovered in Qatar to 140,687.

Out of the 169 new cases, 110 are community cases and 59 from travellers returning from abroad.

All new cases have been placed in isolation and are receiving necessary health care according to their health status.

Till now 244 people have died due to the virus.

The total number of positive COVID-19 cases recorded in Qatar is 142,903 and there are 1,972 active cases under treatment.

3,507 people were tested for the first time in the last 24 hours (6,529  tests in total) taking the total tests done so far to 1,219,417 tests.

There are 26 cases of hospital admissions in the last 24 hours taking the total number of patients in the hospital to 219.

Two patients were admitted to intensive care in the last 24 hours, and so 25 people continue to receive medical attention in ICU.

While the restrictions of COVID-19 are gradually being lifted in Qatar, it is important for everyone to play their role in controlling the virus by following precautionary measures:

- Adherence to physical distancing

- Avoid close contact with others, crowded places, and confined closed spaces where other people congregate

- Wearing a face mask

- Washing hands regularly
