Doha: The Children’s Museum of Qatar has announced Schlumberger as a founding family member of its initiative.

The museum, which is the first publicly funded national entity, will focus on educating future generations on how to contribute confidently to a sustainable future. The museum will provide children and their families with a distinctive place for learning through inclusive, open-ended play, exploration and experimentation.

Commenting on the agreement with Schlumberger, H E Sheikha Al Mayassa bint Hamad bin Khalifa Al Thani, Chairperson of Qatar Museums, said, “Schlumberger is a company that began with two brothers, a supportive father, and a brilliant, advanced technological innovation. On this basis, the company grew into a giant on the international stage. This is why we are so proud to welcome Schlumberger to the Children’s Museum of Qatar Founding Family — because this company represents the qualities of family support, knowledge, imagination, and global awareness that the museum offers our youth.”

Ahmad Musa Al Namla, CEO of Qatar Museums, said, “We at Qatar Museums welcome Schlumberger on board as a founding family member of the Children’s Museum of Qatar. We are grateful for their support and look forward to working alongside them to launch a pioneering institution that is steadfastly committed to nurturing the learning and development of children of all ages. As Qatar’s first publicly funded museum, all donors, families, and corporations will directly contribute to the launch of an impactful institution.”

Schlumberger is the world’s leading provider of digital solutions and innovative technologies for the global energy industry. The company has served as a local partner for the Qatar oil and gas industry for over 70 years, beginning with the first well log of Dukhan 7 in 1948. Schlumberger maintains a strong commitment to community development, social responsibility, and sustainability. In Qatar, Schlumberger partners with key schools and universities to encourage Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics (STEM) learning and knowledge transfer to the youth in Qatar. It also has several active programs with local universities to provide access to new technology to benefit students’ learning and development.

“Contributing to Qatar’s social and cultural development through collaboration and investment in the community is core to who we are as a company,” added Amit Singh, Managing Director Qatar, Schlumberger.

“Schlumberger supports sustainability through its dedication to developing STEM-based skills in future generations utilizing active learning. We are proud to be a founding family member of the Children’s Museum of Qatar, which will support human and social development locally, both of which are pillars of Qatar’s National Vision 2030.”
