Doha, Qatar: In the name of the State of Qatar, the Ministry of Transport has held a reception evening in London for the Member States of the Council of the International Maritime Organization (IMO), to showcase the country’s achievements of the maritime industry.

In addition to Minister of Transport H E Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulla bin Mohammed Al Thani, Ambassador of Qatar to the UK, Ireland, and Iceland, and Permanent Representative to the (IMO) H E Sheikh Abdulla bin Mohammed bin Saud Al Thani, and IMO Secretary General H E Arsenio Dominguez, the international reception was attended by the Embassy of the State of Qatar in the UK, several Qatari maritime industry entities, several ministers from brotherly and friendly countries, numerous ambassadors accredited to the UK, senior officials, and heads and members of Member States’ delegations.

Addressing the attendees, the Minister expressed Qatar’s thanks and gratitude to the IMO for its effort to ensure the safety and security of global maritime navigation and protection of the marine environment. He also reaffirmed Qatar’s commitment to working closely with the Organization to achieve its goals and mission.
