QSE’s main index closes at 10,287.70 points

Doha: Qatar Stock Exchange’s (QSE) benchmark index lost 124.81 points, or 1.20 percent, last week when the bourse closed yesterday at 10,287.70 points.

Trading value during last week decreased by 51.05 percent to reach QR926.99m compared to QR1.89bn in the previous week.

Trading volume decreased by 43.34 percent to reach 54.44 million shares, as against 96.08 million shares, while the number of transactions fell by 50.94 percent, to reach 32,603 transactions as compared to 66,457 transactions.

Market cap fell by 1.02 percent to reach QR587.91bn as compared to QR593.97bn at the end of previous week, reports QNA.

Industries sector led traded value last week with 57.12 percent of the total traded value. Banking and Financial Services sector accounted for 19.77 percent. Real Estate sector accounted for 10.39 percent and Consumer Goods and Services sector accounted 5.8 percent. 

Industries sector led traded volume last week with 66.3 percent of the total traded volume. Banking and Financial Services sector accounted for 13.00 percent. Real Estate sector accounted for 11.85 percent and Telecoms sector accounted 2.51 percent. 

Industries sector led traded number of transactions last week with 70.6 percent of the total number of transactions. Banking and Financial Services sector accounted for 11.08 percent. Real Estate sector accounted for 6.96 percent and Transportation sector accounted for 3.62 percent.

From the 46 listed companies 16 ended last week higher, while 30 fell.

Qatar Aluminum led traded value during last week accounting for 46.71 percent of the total traded value. QNB accounted for 5.97 percent and United Development Company accounted 5.56 percent.

Qatar Stock Exchange Gains 64.72 Points

When compared on daily basis, the QSE index gained 64.72 points, or 0.63 percent, yesterday compared to Wednesday’s closing.

The volume of shares traded increased to 11,820,686 yesterday from 9,258,240 on Wednesday and the value of shares increased to QR220.32m from QR140.28m on Wednesday.

From the 48 companies listed on QSE, shares of 44 saw trading yesterday. From these, 32 companies gained, 11 closed lower and shares of one company remained unchanged.

Indices of six sector ended in green zone and one sectors ended in red zone today. QSE Total Return Index increased 0.63 percent to 18,125.78 points and QSE Al Rayan Islamic Index added 0.68 percent to 3,882.26 points. QSE All Share Index gained 0.82 percent to 3,068.96 points.
