Aspire Zone Foundation (AZF) is all set to present the much anticipated eighth edition of the annual 'Qatar’s Strongest Man' to be held today at 4pm at Aspire Park. The event was originally scheduled to take place last Friday but was postponed for a week due to unexpected weather conditions.
Considered this year’s clash of the titans, the competition will see some of the brawniest men in Qatar take on mammoth challenges that demand extraordinary strength and endurance to be crowned the country’s strongest. Established in 2013, Qatar’s Strongest Man is one of the most important events on AZF calendar, which has grown into one of the most popular through the years with new features added in each edition.
It is a phenomenal test of strength which has grown to become one of the most recognized, and iconic events in the region. It is more than just force: it is about determination, skill, tactics, and strategy. Every test is designed to push the participants to their absolute limits, challenging not only their physical strength, but their agility and mental toughness too.
Among the extremely demanding physical tests that contestants underwent in the previous editions include truck pulling, sand bag lifting, weight lifting, giant wheel tire pushing, and car lifting. Prior to the event today, qualification rounds were held to choose the finalists that will compete for the title as well as a technical meeting to familiarize participants with the rules of the competition.
Considering the COVID-19 pandemic, AZF said it is taking all precautionary measures by setting up checkpoints for Ehteraz App, taking the temperature of participants and the audience and ensuring everyone wears a face mask.
