Doha: Qatar University (QU) and Qatar Charity (QC) have signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) for cooperation in the development and humanitarian work.
The MoU was signed by Dr. Hassan Al Derham, President of QU, and Yousef bin Ahmed Al Kuwari, CEO of QC.
The MoU emphasised the cooperation and collaboration methods between the two entities, especially in the fields of development and humanitarian work and utilisation of cooperation in other possible fields of mutual interest for both parties. The two parties affirmed their endeavour by signing this agreement to achieve the following objectives: educating students about Qatar Charity’s work, preparing students to volunteer, promoting the values of solidarity and social work among university students, and supporting students. Organising special events to serve the common goals of both parties, exchanging information and experiences, jointly attending conferences and events related to the areas of the agreement.
Commenting on the occasion, Dr. Al Derham said, “The signing of this memorandum comes within the framework of Qatar University’s constant endeavour to cooperate with all institutions interested in supporting the university’s march towards the betterment of the Qatari community. This MoU seeks to organise and develop distinguished relations between Qatar University and Qatar Charity in many areas.”
CEO of QC Yousef bin Ahmed Al Kuwari said, “This agreement will play a fundamental role in developing and enhancing community participation towards Qatar National Vision 2030. This agreement encourages students to work as a volunteer for their community.”
He said this agreement would contribute to spreading awareness about the culture of volunteering for humanitarian work. Students will be engaged in charitable initiatives, enhancing their expertise and capabilities in this field.
