Doha, Qatar: The Cultural Village Foundation – Katara has announced the launch of its 2026 Katara Summer Camps, offering a diverse programme of educational, artistic and cultural activities designed to enrich children’s skills and encourage creativity during the school holidays.
Running from July 5 to 29, the camps will be held every Sunday, Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday from 4pm to 6:30pm, providing participants with an engaging environment that combines learning, culture and entertainment.
According to posts on Katara’s social media accounts yesterday, the initiative features 11 specialised camps catering to boys, girls and mixed groups, reflecting Katara’s continued commitment to nurturing young talent while preserving Qatar’s rich cultural heritage.
Among the programmes is the Heritage and Traditional Crafts Camp for girls, which will be held at Building 46 (Al Sadu Exhibition). The camp is designed to introduce participants to traditional Qatari handicrafts and heritage skills, helping younger generations appreciate the country’s cultural identity.
Children interested in science and astronomy can join the Summer Thuraya Camp, hosted at Building 41 (Al Thuraya Planetarium), where participants will explore astronomy and space through interactive educational activities.
Aspiring performers will have the opportunity to develop their confidence and stage presence through the Young Actor Camp, while those with a passion for literature can take part in the Literature Camp, both of which welcome boys and girls.
Photography enthusiasts will benefit from the Photography Camp, where participants will learn the fundamentals of capturing creative images under the guidance of experienced instructors.
Katara has also included programmes focusing on personal development, with the “Be Smart, Be Strong” Camp dedicated to boys. The camp aims to strengthen life skills, teamwork and self-confidence through interactive workshops and practical activities.
Creative arts also feature prominently in this year’s programme. The Summer Crafts Camp and the Summer Fine Arts Camp will allow children to explore painting, design and handicrafts, while encouraging artistic expression in a supportive learning environment.
Other highlights include the Religious Camp for boys, which focuses on Islamic values and character building, and the Beauty from Our Heritage Camp for girls, celebrating the aesthetics of Qatari traditions through practical cultural experiences.
The programme is rounded off by the Silent Laughter Camp, an innovative activity designed to promote communication, creativity and social interaction through engaging and entertaining exercises.
The camps will be hosted across several Katara venues, including Buildings 18, 19, 39, 41 and 46, as well as the Golden Mosque, enabling participants to experience different cultural landmarks throughout the village.
Katara’s summer programme seeks to provide children with meaningful experiences beyond the classroom by blending education with hands-on activities in heritage, arts, science, photography and performance.
The initiative also aims to encourage curiosity, creativity and teamwork while giving participants opportunities to discover new talents and interests.
Registration is now open, with Katara inviting families to enrol their children in the camps. Interested parents can obtain further information and complete registration by contacting 50900070.
