Doha, Qatar: Qatar Leadership Centre (QLC) has concluded the third edition of its Leadership Innovation Forum 2026, highlighting the importance of strategic planning, governance and knowledge transfer in building sustainable institutions and ensuring long-term success.

The event was held under the patronage of Chairperson of Board of Directors of QLC H E Sheikha Al Mayassa bint Hamad Al Thani, under the theme “Strategy Before Execution: Building Institutions That Last Beyond Leaders”.

Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of State for Defence Affairs H E Sheikh Saoud bin Abdulrahman bin Hassan Al-Thani and Minister of Justice and Minister of State for Cabinet Affairs H E Ibrahim bin Ali bin Issa Al Hassan Al Mohannadi attended the event. The forum brought together more than 1,000 guests, including leaders, officials, experts, graduates and representatives of various organisations.

The event featured interactive discussions and in-depth exchanges on ways to build institutions capable of sustaining success through leadership transitions. It also received extensive engagement across social media platforms and media outlets, helping broaden the reach of its message and key themes.

The forum’s sessions examined the role of strategic planning, governance, knowledge transfer and future leadership development in strengthening institutional sustainability and enhancing organisations’ ability to address challenges and adapt to rapidly changing circumstances.

Speaking at the event, Director-General of Qatar Leadership Centre Abdullah Mohammed Khalifa Al-Binali, said the forum reflected the Centre’s commitment to advancing leadership thinking and promoting the exchange of expertise across sectors.

“The success of leadership is not limited to the achievements made during a leader’s tenure; it extends to building institutions capable of continuing to succeed through leadership transitions. Through this forum, we seek to reinforce the importance of strategic thinking and exchange of experiences,” he said.

The programme opened with a documentary film highlighting the leadership legacy of Father Amir H H Sheikh Hamad bin Khalifa Al Thani, may his soul rest in peace. The film reviewed key milestones and strategic transformations Qatar witnessed during his leadership, as well as his role in building strong national institutions that contributed to the country’s development and comprehensive progress.

The film underscored the importance of long-term vision in building institutions capable of sustaining achievements across generations, reflecting the forum’s central theme: “Strategy Before Execution: Building Institutions That Last Beyond Leaders”.

The forum featured three main panel discussions focusing on the education, infrastructure, and oil and gas sectors.

The sessions highlighted experiences and practices that help translate strategic visions into sustainable operational frameworks.

The programme also included three parallel workshops offering certification, exclusively for the Centre’s graduates. These covered strategic leadership in both Arabic and English, alongside a dedicated workshop for emerging young leaders. The workshops focused on developing leadership skills and linking strategic concepts with practical application.

Qatar Media Corporation served as the forum’s media sponsor, supporting its media presence and highlighting its message and objectives. Engagement across media outlets and social media platforms helped disseminate key ideas and perspectives discussed during the event and promote dialogue on leadership and institutional sustainability.

The forum forms part of Qatar Leadership Centre’s ongoing mission to prepare and develop national leaders and strengthen communication and knowledge-sharing among its alumni community. The Centre has more than 1,400 male and female graduates serving in leadership roles across various government and private-sector organisations.
