Doha: More than 35 Qatar Petroleum and Qatargas employees have taken part in a virtual Energy and Climate seminar held by ExxonMobil Qatar’s Tamayoz Learning and Development program.
The two-hour session, which was delivered virtually by Loan Tran, ExxonMobil GHG and Climate Change Advocacy and Interface Manager, provided an overview of ExxonMobil’s approach to managing climate risks, including technology investments and actions to reduce greenhouse gas emissions.
ExxonMobil Qatar launched the Tamayoz Learning and Development program in 2012 as a reflection of the company’s desire to equip and empower the next generation of Qatari business leaders of the energy sector in line with the Human Development Pillar of the Qatar National Vision 2030.
Tamayoz delivers an annual curriculum of high-impact and industry-relevant professional and personal development opportunities for valued partners, ranging from classroom training courses and seminars, to work experiences via training visits to ExxonMobil global facilities and secondment assignments into its businesses.
Training courses are led by ExxonMobil global subject matter experts and are offered free of charge. To date, over 250 training courses and seminars have been offered to more than 5,400 industry professionals, covering a diverse range of disciplines including leadership and personal effectiveness; technical; project management; health, safety, and environment; commercial; and operations excellence.
“The seminar offered by the Tamayoz Training program is an excellent opportunity for our team members to gain awareness on this very important emerging arena, particularly in terms of the issues, risks and opportunities presented by climate change, low carbon solutions and alternative fuels in this time of transition in the energy landscape,” said Khalifa Ahmed Al Sulaiti, Acting Chief HSE&Q Officer at Qatargas. “As the world’s largest LNG company, Qatargas is at the forefront of this global energy transition as a leading provider of low carbon energy - and climate change and its associated risks are key elements of our long-term environmental strategy,” he added.
