Doha: The Water Quality Laboratory of Qatar General Electricity and Water Corporation (Kahramaa) has received new version of the accreditation ISO/IEC 17025:2017 after it fulfilled all the required international standards.
The laboratory has been accredited 8th year in a row as it received the international accreditation certificate (certificate number 3265.01) by the American Association for Laboratory Accreditation (A2LA), in the field of accreditation for laboratory proficiency in testing and calibration for the first time on March 19, 2012. And it was preserved until its date and the new copy was obtained.
The laboratory passed the requirements that qualify it to obtain this international accreditation according to the new standard, in terms of the nature of technical and administrative work, and the application of the highest international standards in quality control and laboratory equipment.
The laboratory obtained through efforts made by specialised and qualified technical personnel using the latest technologies and laboratory devices according to internationally accredited test to provide two important elements: accuracy and high quality in conducting laboratory tests and their results for the purposes of making a sound decision about water quality and conforming to international standards.
Kahramaa obtained the international accreditation for laboratory quality standards several times, as the institution has maintained this estimate for eight consecutive years, which reflects the laboratory’s efficiency in meeting internationally required specifications and standards and providing its services with high quality.
This international accreditation is an achievement that adds to Kahrama’s series of successes in various fields, and these successes are in line with Kahramaa’s 2030 vision, which aims to make the performance of its employees, assets, systems and procedures a global standard for performance, technical innovation, environmental sustainability and social responsibility in the electricity and water sectors.
