Doha, Qatar: Umm Salal continued their winning start to the 2026-27 QSL Cup season after beating Al Khor 2-0 in their Round 2 match at Al Khor Stadium yesterday.
Atowoula Odilon Kouassi scored both goals for Umm Salal, striking in the 47th and 56th minutes to secure a second successive victory for his side.
The result took Umm Salal’s tally to six points after they had opened their campaign with a win over Al Kharaitiyat.
Al Khor, meanwhile, suffered their second defeat of the tournament after losing to Muaither in the opening round.
At Hamad Bin Khalifa Stadium, Al Waab and Lusail shared the points after an absorbing 1-1 draw.
Mohamed Al Hassan put Al Waab ahead in the 35th minute, but Lusail restored parity through Macedonian forward Georg Stonjanovski, who converted from the penalty spot in the 65th minute.
The draw was the first of the tournament for both sides, who had made winning starts in the opening round.
Al Waab had defeated Mesaimeer 1-0, while Lusail had also recorded a 1-0 victory against Al Markhiya.
At Thani Bin Jassim Stadium, Al Markhiya and Al Ahli also played out a 1-1 draw.
Al Ahli took the lead in the 54th minute through Ismail Mohammad, but Al Markhiya responded with an equaliser from Ahmed Aboutrika in the 67th minute.
The result gave both sides their first point of the tournament after they had lost their opening matches.
Al Duhail lead the standings with six points, level with Umm Salal, while Al Wakrah are third with four points.
