Covid-related hospital admissions increase by 85%

Doha: Qatar has seen an 85 percent increase in the number of people admitted to hospital with Covid-19 complications.  

“We have seen an 85% increase this month compared to last month in the number of people admitted to hospital with Covid-19. It is more important than ever that people adhere to preventive measures,” tweeted the Ministry of Public Health along with a graph showing the spike. 

The ministry also reiterated the importance of adhering to preventive measures to avoid a new wave of infections. The preventive measures include: 

- Always wear a mask when you go outside your home.  

- Maintain at least 1.5m distance from others.

- Avoid crowded places and limit time in enclosed spaces. 

- Wash your hands regularly.
