Qatar weather to gradually turn milder in September, chances of rain: QMD

Doha, Qatar: Weather conditions in Qatar are expected to gradually become milder during September, with increasing relative humidity and a chance of rain that may turn thundery at times, according to the Qatar Meteorology Department (QMD).

In its climate information for Doha, QMD described September as the first month of autumn and a transitional period between summer and winter.

The department said "the amount of clouds expected to increase" during the month, with chances of rain especially during the afternoon, while winds will be mainly easterly and light to moderate in speed.

The daily mean temperature in Doha during September stands at 33.1°C, according to QMD data.

Historical records show that the highest temperature recorded during the month was 46.2°C in 2001, while the lowest was 20.3°C in 1964.
