Doha: Doha Metro suspends paper tickets as part of its efforts to promote sustainability and preserve the environment.
“We have suspended the use of paper tickets and replaced them with reusable Travel Cards, to promote sustainability,” Doha Metro said in a tweet on their official handle.
Paper tickets were not available on Doha Metro after it reopened with 30 percent capacity on September 1 as part of lifting of Covid-19 restrictions in Qatar.
“Limited use tickets are not available, until further notice. Make sure you purchase your Standard Travelcard before travelling from one of our licensed retailers or from the Ticket Vending Machine at the station,” Doha Metro had said during the reopening.
