A criminal gang metaphorically called a state yesterday carried out a cowardly attack against a sovereign state, targeting one of the residential headquarters of several members of the Political Bureau of Hamas in Doha.
The State of Qatar strongly condemned the cowardly Israeli attack on residential buildings in Doha, stressing that this criminal assault constitutes a blatant violation of all international laws and norms, and poses a serious threat to the security and safety of both Qataris and residents in Qatar.
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs affirmed that it will not tolerate such reckless Israeli behaviour, the ongoing disruption of regional security, or any act that threatens its security and sovereignty.
How can any state claim legitimacy while assassinating the very person it is negotiating with, and attacking those mediating peace between it and its adversary? Such actions are not the behaviour of a sovereign state but of a lawless criminal syndicate—one that thrives on impunity, striking anyone, anywhere, in any manner it chooses, emboldened by the extraordinary shield it enjoys in international affairs.
Israel’s aggression against the State of Qatar—though it failed to achieve its primary objective—was not merely an attack on a nation. It was an attack on peace itself, an attempt to assassinate the very process of making peace. Its clear aim was to derail mediation efforts to bring relief and peace to Gaza while perpetuating the ongoing genocide inflicted upon the Palestinian people.
Israel today stands as a power consumed by bloodlust and intoxicated with destruction. In its reckless pursuit of dominance, it tramples every boundary of morality and law, taking advantage of a world where international justice has collapsed, the United Nations has been sidelined, and the foundational principles of sovereignty, human rights, and human dignity are brazenly violated.
Israel’s defence forces, like organised criminal groups, engage in unlawful activities in different parts of this region. Their activities may range from street-level crimes—such as drug trafficking, theft, and extortion—to larger operations involving human trafficking, weapons smuggling, and even infiltration of political or business systems.
The ongoing Israeli aggression against the countries of the region confirms that it represents the greatest threat to peace and security not only in this region, but to global peace and security.
The international community must bear its legal and moral responsibility to deter this hostile spirit that pervades the extremist government of Israel, especially since Israel has openly boasted about carrying out the attacks on residential buildings in the Qatari capital, Doha, which clearly demonstrates its willingness to commit acts of aggression without regard for the sovereignty of states or the safety of their people.
