The passing of the Father Amir, H H Sheikh Hamad bin Khalifa Al Thani, has prompted the nation to reflect on the many pillars of his remarkable legacy. Among the most enduring is his unwavering commitment to empowering women and ensuring they became active partners in Qatar’s development.

Under his visionary leadership, Qatar witnessed a transformative expansion of opportunities for women in education, healthcare, business, diplomacy, science and public service. His belief that national progress could only be achieved by harnessing the talents of all citizens laid the foundation for one of the region’s most notable success stories in women’s advancement.
