The scholarship programme is one of the Minister of Awqaf and Islamic Affairs’ strategic pillars for investing in human development and shaping future generations.

The programme embodies an integrated vision aimed at preparing qualified Islamic scholars capable of conveying the true message of Islam, while promoting the values of moderation, tolerance, and balance.

The scholarship initiative extends far beyond academic instruction, offering a holistic development framework that includes educational, spiritual, and skills-based training. Students benefit from Quranic and educational programmes and social activities designed to strengthen their character and enhance their personal and professional skills.

The Ministry of Awqaf and Islamic Affairs recently held annual graduation ceremony to honour students of the scholarship programme for the 2025-2026 academic year.

The programme enrolled 182 students from 39 countries during the current academic year, highlighting its international reach and role in fostering cultural exchange and intellectual engagement among diverse communities. Forty percent of the students achieved academic distinction, demonstrating the quality of the educational programmes and the comprehensive support provided by the ministry.

The ceremony included the recognition of several graduating cohorts, including scholarship programme graduates, graduates of the Religious Institute, graduates of the Diploma in Da’wah and Islamic Sciences offered in partnership with the Community College, and outstanding Qatari students from the Religious Institute. The broad recognition reflects the diversity of educational pathways supported by the ministry and its commitment to developing a comprehensive educational system that prepares qualified scholars and preachers at both the national and international levels, reinforcing Qatar’s contribution to serving the wider Muslim community.

As part of its efforts to support high-achieving students, the ministry allocated 23 university scholarships at the College of Sharia and Islamic Studies at Qatar University for the current year, enabling graduates to continue their academic and professional specialisation.

The ministry is committed to supporting Qatari students. During the ceremony, 48 outstanding Qatari students from the Religious Institute were honoured, while six students benefited from the government scholarship programme at the College of Sharia. Besides, the Diploma Programme in Da’wah and Islamic Sciences at the Community College of Qatar includes 57 male and female students, with 13 students graduating this year.

Such educational initiatives collectively form an integrated system that contributes to the ministry’s objective of preparing qualified academic and religious cadres capable of serving both religion and society, while supporting Qatar’s sustainable development goals.
