Doha, Qatar: The Indian Sports Centre (ISC) organised a success celebration to mark the successful conduct of this year’s International Day of Yoga (IDY 2026) in Qatar.
Inaugurating the event at ICC Ashoka Hall, Ambassador of India to Qatar H E Vipul, expressed his sincere gratitude to the Indian community in Qatar for their wholehearted support in making the International Day of Yoga 2026 celebrations a grand success.
The main IDY 2026 event was held at the University of Doha for Science & Technology (UDST) Cricket Ground.
The function was presided over by ISC President E P Abdurahiman. During the ceremony, the Ambassador felicitated the sponsors, organisers and volunteers who played a key role in the successful planning and execution of the International Day of Yoga 2026 celebrations.
Among those present were Deputy Chief of Mission Sandeep Kumar, First Secretary and ISC Coordinating Officer Harish Pandey, Second Secretary Bindu N. Nair, ICBF President Shanavas Bava, General Secretary Deepak Shetty, ICC Vice President Shantanu Deshpande, ICC General Secretary Abraham K. Joseph, IBPC Vice President Abdul Sathar, Organizing Committee Chairman P.N. Babu Rajan, General Convener Nihad Ali, and ISC Advisory Council Member Subramanya Hebbagelu.
ISC Vice President Sitendu Pal, Treasurer Deepak Chukkala, Secretary Basheer Thuvarikkal and Management Committee members Abdul Azeem, Chandrashekar Angadi, Somaraju Kedarasetty and others lead the event.
The celebration was attended by members of various apex bodies, representatives of affiliated organizations, organizing committee members, sponsors and volunteers.
The event commenced with a welcome address by ISC Joint Secretary Kavitha Mahendran, while Nivedita Mehta, In-charge of the Yoga Programme, proposed the vote of thanks.
