Doha, Qatar: Qatar's Lusail SC has launched a new five-year strategy aimed at developing sporting talent and strengthening institutional growth, following the football team's historic promotion to the country's top division.

The strategy for 2026-2030 was unveiled during a ceremony in Doha on Thursday celebrating the club's promotion to the Qatar Stars League, known commercially as the Doha Bank Stars League, for the 2026-27 season.

Club officials said the new plan would focus on nurturing young athletes, promoting national values and strengthening the club's identity, while also expanding its role within the wider community.

Lusail SC chairman Nawaf Al Mudhahka described the promotion as a major milestone in the club's long-term development strategy.

He said the next phase would prioritize improving the readiness and competitiveness of the first football team, alongside continuing investment in youth development and talent identification programs.

The club also plans to expand professional development pathways for young players in a move aimed at supporting both the senior team and Qatar's national sides.

Al Mudhahka added that the strategy places emphasis on institutional governance, financial sustainability and the development of partnerships across the sports, education and youth sectors.

Lusail secured promotion to the top flight for the first time in its history after winning the Qatari Second Division title.
