Doha, Qatar: Undersecretary of the Ministry of Municipality H E Ali bin Mohammed Al Ali, headed the State of Qatar’s delegation participating in the 42nd meeting of the Committee of Senior Municipal Officials of GCC countries, held virtually on yesterday.
The meeting brought together senior municipal officials from GCC member states to discuss issues related to strengthening joint municipal cooperation and advancing the municipal sector across the region.
During the meeting, Al Ali stressed the importance of continuing to strengthen Gulf municipal cooperation, praising the efforts of the GCC General Secretariat and member states in developing the municipal work system.
He also commended the efforts of the committees and technical working groups concerned with municipal affairs, as well as the meetings and preparatory workshops held to study the topics, initiatives and guidelines on the agenda from various technical and implementation perspectives. These efforts aim to develop appropriate views and proposals for submission to the ministers and senior officials responsible for municipal affairs, contributing to the advancement of municipal services and the exchange of expertise and successful experiences among GCC member states.
The meeting is part of preparations for the meeting of the GCC ministers and senior officials responsible for municipal affairs, scheduled to be held later this week.
