Doha: President of Lebanon H E General Michel Aoun has expressed his country’s appreciation for the support provided by Qatar, under the directives of Amir H H Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani, to Lebanon and the Lebanese people, especially during the difficult circumstances which the country went through after the Beirut Port explosion.
He also said that urgent social, humanitarian and health aid that arrived in Lebanon and was placed at disposal of the affected Lebanese considered as an affirmation of the distinguished relations between both countries.
In a statement during his meeting with Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs, H E Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman Al Thani, President Aoun asserted that the Qatari solidarity with Lebanon was translated on several occasions, whether through financial and in-kind donations, through the participation of Amir H H Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani in the Paris Conference to support Lebanon which was organized by the French President Emmanuel Macron, or through the air bridge which was established between Beirut and Doha to send medical and food aid in addition to field hospitals.
According to a Lebanese presidency’s statement, President Aoun has expressed his appreciation for the facilities provided by Qatar to Lebanese citizens residing in Qatar, and the job opportunities it provides to many Lebanese, especially in light of the difficult economic conditions which Lebanese is passing through.
