Doha, Qatar: While air raid sirens were activated in Bahrain, warning people to head to nearest safe place, Kuwait National Guard announced that it intercepted six drones. UAE Ministry of Defence also confirmed that it was intercepting ballistic missiles in the country.

The Ministry of Defense of State of Qatar announced via a post shared on X at 9:52pm, Tuesday March 10, that the armed forces had intercepted a missile attack which targeted the State of Qatar. A public safety alert has been issued stating that the threat has been eliminated at 9:58pm. This followed a security alert that was sent out to the public around 9:42pm March 10, 2026.

UAE's Ministry of Defense holds military funeral ceremony for two members of the Armed Forces

The Ministry of Defence of the United Arab Emirates announced that a military funeral was held at Zayed Military Hospital in Abu Dhabi for the two Emirati martyrs Captain Pilot Saeed Rashid Hamad Al Balushi and First Lieutenant Ali Saleh Ismail Al Tunaiji, who passed away after a helicopter crash due to a technical malfunction while performing their national duty in the country.

This was announced on Tuesday, March 10, on the Ministry's social media. The ceremony was attended by a number of senior commanders and officers from the UAE Ministry of Defense, as well as members of the martyrs' families.

Security level 'elevated' in Qatar 

Qatar sent out National Emergency Alert to all phone calling on public to stay indoors.

It activated the national warning mechanism, where it stated,"The security threat level is elevated. Everyone is required to remain indoors, refrain from going out and stay away from windows and exposed areas, in order to ensure public safety." Within minutes of the alert, loud sounds of interception were heard across the country.

The State of Qatar expressed its strong condemnation and denunciation of the attack targeting the Consulate General of the sister United Arab Emirates in Iraqi Kurdistan.

UAE air defences intercepting missile and drone threats

The UAE’s ministries of defence and interior have warned people to “remain in a safe place” and heed “warnings and updates” on official websites, as air defences work to neutralise threats from Iranian drones and missiles.

“The Ministry of Defence confirms that the sounds heard in scattered areas of the country are the result of the air defence systems intercepting ballistic missiles, and fighter jets intercepting drones and loitering munitions,” the ministry said in a statement.

Australia to deploy long-range reconnaissance plane to Gulf

Australia will deploy a long-range military reconnaissance plane to the Gulf to protect civilians, Prime Minister Anthony Albanese said Tuesday.

An E-7A Wedgetail aircraft and supporting defence force personnel will be sent for an initial period of four weeks to help "protect and secure the airspace above the Gulf", Albanese told a news conference.

Australia also plans to provide advanced, medium-range air-to-air missiles to the United Arab Emirates "in response to a request", the prime minister said. Read more

Saudi Arabia condemns attack on UAE consulate in Iraq’s Kurdistan

Saudi Arabia’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs has strongly condemned an attack on the UAE’s Consulate General in Iraq’s Kurdistan autonomous region.

The “repeated targeting” of diplomatic buildings is a “clear violation” of international law, the ministry said.

This comes after the UAE also called for an investigation into the incident, which caused damage to the building. There were no casualties.
